Driving Licences Division operates in full again

Last two weeks the municipality’s Driving Licences Division was closed and then operated to a limited extent. This was caused by an unfavourable pandemic situation and related quarantine measures. Driving licences agenda to operate to a limited extent till the end of the week

The Driving Licences Division was closed for three days last week. The situation stabilizes slowly. On Wednesday 10 March, the division will open to clients without prior reservation to a limited extent – from 8:00 to 13:00. Half of the counters will be opened, therefore the waiting time may be longer. The afternoon (13:00 – 17:00) is reserved for those with an electronic reservation only. On Thursday 11 and Friday 12 March, the period between 8:00 and 12:00 is reserved for those with an electronic reservation only. As for the next week starting on 15 March, both clients with and without a reservation will be served as follows: Monday: 8:00 – 13:00 (without a reservation only)Monday: 13:00 – 17:00 (with an electronic reservation only)Tuesday: 8:00 – 12:00 (with an electronic reservation only)Wednesday: 8:00 – 13:00 (without a reservation only)Wednesday: 13:00 – 17:00 (with an electronic reservation only)Thursday: 8:00 – 12:00 (with an electronic reservation only)Friday: 8:00 – 12:00 (with an electronic reservation only) Not all counters will probably open at the beginning of the week, which may result in a longer waiting time. The Brno City Municipality advises citizens to visit the municipality only if necessary. We point out that the validity of driving licences or professional competence certificates that expire(d) between 1 September 2020 and 30 June 2021 is extended by 10 months, which applies to the whole European Union.…

Driving Licences Division to open probably on Monday for electronic reservations. Staff tests will decide.

The Brno City Municipality makes every effort to restore the operation of the division responsible for the agenda of driving licences. The division staff will undergo Covid-19 tests on Monday morning, and the operation of the division will depend on their results. If the situation allows, the division will be open on Monday 8 March 2021 from 13:00 and 17:00 for those with electronic reservations. On Tuesday it would open for clients with prior reservations between 8:00 and 12:00. If the division does not open, these clients will be informed of the cancellation of their appointment on Monday morning. At this point, we cannot anticipate when the division will restore its operation in full. Important is that the validity of driving licences or professional competence certificates that expire(d) between 1 September 2020 and 30 June 2021, is extended by 10 months, which applies to the whole European Union. Citizens who want to apply for a new driving licence can do so at municipalities with extended powers in Brno surroundings, as territorial competence does not apply to this agenda. We advise citizens to visit the municipality in necessary cases only. …

Municipality’s Driving Licences Division suspends its operation from 3 to 5 March

Due to complications with staff shortage caused by the current pandemic situation, the operation of the division responsible for the driving licences agenda (applications and issuing) is suspended from Wednesday 3 March to Friday 5 March. Clients with electronic reservations for these days will be contacted and informed of the cancellation of their appointment. This restriction does not concern other divisions of the Transport Administrative Activities Department (e.g. vehicle register). Citizens who want to apply for a new driving licence can do so at municipalities with extended powers in Brno surroundings, as territorial competence does not apply to this agenda. We will publish up-to-date information at the end of the working week and inform you whether the Drivers Agenda Division will restore its operation from Monday 8 March. …

Brno-City and Brno-Outskirts unite in one compound for the crisis measure

As of 1 March, strict rules for crossing borders between districts apply. People can leave their district for several purposes only, e.g. for travelling to work, a doctor or a public authority. They need to have a written confirmation or declaration on word of honour. In this case, Brno-City and Brno-Outskirts are considered a single compound, and this duty does not apply when crossing borders between these districts. More information and templates of declarations on word of honour for travelling outside these districts can be found on the page of the Ministry of Interior: https://www.mvcr.cz/docDetail.aspx?docid=22300633&doctype=ART Attention – leisure time activities are limited to the territory of a municipality only. Therefore, Brnoers are allowed to sport or go for a walk only within Brno (however, this concerns the whole of the city, not a single city district only).…
